Authorizes construction of fixed works requiring specialized engineering knowledge and skill, including irrigation, drainage, water power, water supply, flood control, inland waterways, harbors, docks, shipyards, dams, hydroelectric projects, levees, railroads, highways, tunnels, airports, sewers, bridges, pipelines, parks, refineries, and power plants.

Not authorized: Does not authorize work under a Class B General Building Contractor license or any specialty (C) classification unless incidental to the engineering project.

C-10: Electrical Contractor

Places, installs, erects, or connects electrical wires, fixtures, appliances, apparatus, raceways, conduits, solar photovoltaic cells, or any part thereof which generate, transmit, transform, or utilize electrical energy.

Not authorized: Electricians working under a C-10 must be certified per CA Labor Code.

C-38: Refrigeration Contractor

Constructs, fabricates, erects, installs, maintains, services, and repairs refrigerators, refrigerated rooms, insulated spaces, temperature insulation, air-conditioning units, ducts, blowers, and thermostatic controls for temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius).
